Slavic Karpyuk is the Director for Innovista in Siberia. He grew up in Russia and after the collapse of the Soviet Union he moved with parents to Ukraine, where he first learned about Jesus. Soon afterwards he committed his life to Jesus and joined a Christian student ministry.
Slavic joined Innovista Eurasia in Kiev in 2003, initially as the first evangelism/mission trainer. He oversaw the translation of the Contagious Christian curriculum into Russian and was part of the team that developed Zerro, a culturally relevant evangelistic retreat. In 2008 Slavic became the Director of Innovista Eurasia. Since 2003 he has travelled all over Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Central Asia, developing leaders to lead mission. During one of his travels to Siberia, God called him to move there.
Slavic says, "I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t hear the gospel from my friends. I'm not even sure I'd still alive if I didn’t meet Jesus. So I do everything now to train young people to share their faith confidently and effectively with people around them."
In 2010 Slavic and his young family moved to Siberia so he could pioneer work developing young leaders there. He lives in Omsk and is involved in the Siberian Youth Movement and a local church plant.
